Mellowness of Autumn – Mosaic Monday

The days get shorter and morning is dawning colder. As I prepare this post I’m watching the squirrels outside the window scamper around gathering their stock of food and reinforcing their nests with a sense of urgency for the winter that’s on its way. In these waning days of autumn I give you this mosaic of some of the images I captured this week and a quote for the latest edition of Mosaic Monday brought to you by Mary of Little Red House.

I like spring, but it is too young. I like summer, but it is too proud. So I like best of all autumn, because its tone is mellower, its colours are richer, and it is tinged with a little sorrow. It’s golden richness speaks not of the innocence of spring, nor the power of summer, but of the mellowness and kindly wisdom of approaching age. It knows the limitations of life and its content.” – Lin Yutang
