Birthday celebration and new tradition

I had a wonderful birthday celebration at Crystal and Kevin’s Saturday night. They originally wanted to take us to their favorite camping spot for a nice hike and lunch but the weather was just not going to cooperate. So they treated for my favorite pizza, Dominos! There is a pizzsaria in a nearby town that’s my absolute favorite if I want to split hairs but for delivery I adore Dominos. When we used to live in Northampton we’d get it frequently. You can’t beat the convenience and we plain old loved it. Since moving there isn’t one close enough that delivers to our town sadly(or good thing cause I’d be doing it all the time).  Crystal and Kevin enjoy it as well and they’ve found that you can order online. That is just the coolest thing. We went online and Crystal placed our order. As you add toppings to your pizza it shows them being added to a pizza on the screen(I know simple things for simple minds right? hehe). Then after you place your order it tells you “Chris(the prep person at their local Dominos) is preparing your pizza now” and it gives you updates showing cooking time and when the driver leaves with your order it tells you that as well. We had fun joking about the process.  We ordered pizzas with our favorite toppings, buffalo kickers and cheesy garlic bread.  It’d been about 3 years since we’d had Dominos and it was just as good as I’d remembered. I savored each and every bite. Then we settled in for a movie. Since my birthday falls so close to Halloween the last couple years when Crystal and Kevin came up to our house for my birthday dinner we’d watch one of the Halloween movies on tv or some other such flick. Continuing on with our newest tradition Crystal and Kevin picked up “The Ring” at the video store. She and I aren’t big ones for scary movies so we were both curled up with fleece throws pulled up and ready to hide our eyes in. Yup we’re wimps. I hadn’t watched the movie before cause I was very creeped out by the premise. But I got past my fear and it was an excellent movie, a good psychological thriller. I prefer that over the slash and gash type.  One of our grandkitties, Wildebeast, was curled up on Crystal’s lap for the whole movie. No scardy cat he, while their other kitty, Goldberg, snoozed in the bedroom. he’s not as social as Wildebeast is but a sweet affectionate cat to Crystal and Kevin at least. Crystal also made delicious cupcakes for dessert.  It was a perfect evening with the three most important people in my life.

  • Oh, I’m so glad you had a nice birthday celebration with your “most important people”; that makes it even more special.

You just get younger and more fun all the time!! :)

  • I too am so glad you had a great day. I love that tradition, that’s what I want to do. I really don’t want to go out to dinner, but…

  • Glad you had such a good Birthday. I hear you about Dominos. We had a filing day at work today and they delivered our lunch. Tasty!

  • Happy birthday, belated of course, but the cupcakes are still looking delicious!

  • Special times with special people is the bestest! :)
I like Dominoes too…….although I can’t say I’m extremely picky when it comes to pizza or pizza places! lol…I tried one of their oven baked sandwiches when I was in Minnieapolis & sAmantha was sick at the hotel, it seemed closest to order from and I really liked the sandwhich too :)
YOu could not pay me to watch that movie though…no way!!! I’d never sleep again!
